We know that a gym can get confusing at times. When you go to a gym, there are so many different types of workouts you can perform. You can jump on a treadmill, take part in a group fitness class, go cycling, lift weights, or even play sports. At Fitness Evolution in Hyattsville, MD, we want to provide our members with the best experience possible. Today, we want to talk to you about aspect of our gym that we are particularly proud of: free weights.
Fitness Evolution in Hyattsville, MD offers a variety of ways for our fantastic members to work out as well as obtain a personal trainer in Hyattsville. We are especially happy about the free weights area for our members. If one of your primary goals in the gym is to make big muscular gains in the gym, you should be working out with free weights often.
If you are not a fan of performing squats, curls, bench presses, deadlifts or any other free weight exercise as a part of your daily workout plan, we provide you and the rest of our members with many different machines to perform workouts with. However, we would like our members to know that utilizing free weights rather than machines can be a much better use of your time due to how effective and efficient free weight exercises can be. Free weights can help you get much better gains than machines ever could.
You might be wondering to yourself, “Why do free weights help people get better results than machines?” The answer is easy: range-of-motion. When you work out with free weights, you have a much greater range-of-motion. When you have a wide range-of-motion, you are capable of working out multiple muscle groups at the same time. When you work out multiple muscle groups while performing just one free weight exercise, you expend a lot more energy. As a result, the greater range-of-motion from using free weights results in a very efficient workout when compared to machines. When you use free weights, you perform more natural movements than when you use machines. Machines force you to do robotic and unnatural movements.
If you ever hear people talking negatively about machines, the above reason is why. When it comes down to it, machines simply are not as effective as free weights. You want all of your workouts to be as effective as possible, so you should always integrate free weights into your workout plan. It is important to work out your entire body so that you are proportionately strong. You do not want your arms to be extremely heavy while having skinny legs. Why? Because you will have poor balance, and the bottom half of your body will struggle to support the top half of your body. Squats and deadlifts are two of the most effective exercises for your entire body—especially for your legs. You would be completely missing out on squats and deadlifts if you decided to stay away from free weights! If you ever need help with weight training, don’t hesitate to tell the Fitness Evolution staff at our Hyattsville, Maryland location. They are all very helpful, and they want you to perform effective workouts!
There are fantastic benefits to machines as well, which is why they exist. However, we will go over those benefits on another day in the near future.
We cannot wait for you to take a tour of Fitness Evolution in Hyattsville, MD. We are confident that you will find our free weights area a great place to reach your fitness goals!
